The recent acquisition of the robot Beam® technology from one of the world’s leading suppliers of telepresence robots, Silicon Valley-based Suitable Technologies, by the he Danish company Blue Ocean Robotics has put the telepresence robotics into spotlight. Telepresence robots provide visual eye-to-eye connection across distance in real time, with the user physically navigating around a robotic platform on wheels equipped with a screen, camera, and microphone, receiving a live video stream from the remote location. The addressable telepresence robotics market is estimated at about $140 Mln by 2025.
